Blueprints for the Future: Government Relations Visits to WVU Tech and PSC

Since stepping into his role, President Benson has made it clear that every campus in the WVU System matters. He’s spent meaningful time at WVU Potomac State College and WVU Institute of Technology meeting students and faculty, listening to community needs, and seeing firsthand the momentum and challenges on the ground.

That perspective is already shaping action. President Benson and the WVU BOG have committed to a major renovation of the 75-year-old Science Hall at WVU Potomac State. This transformative investment will lend itself to modern labs, hands-on learning, and the kind of research spaces that match the talent and ambition of PSC students and faculty. These updates will elevate science education and enhance the student experience for years to come.

With momentum running high, President Benson tasked Associate Vice President of Government Relations and Collaboration Travis Mollohan and Director of Federal Relations Suzanne Bentzel to lead a systemwide listening tour.

They met with Presidents Dr. Jerry Wallace and Dr. Ramon Stuart and their leadership teams to walk each campus, review priority infrastructure and equipment needs, and explore potential funding avenues.

Their visits underscore the University’s commitment to every campus, ensuring that WVU Potomac State College and WVU Tech have the resources they need to thrive.
