Director of Federal Relations and State Higher Education Initiatives
With more than 30 years of Capitol Hill experience, Suzanne leads our Federal Relations office. She loves welcoming fellow Mountaineers to the nation’s capital and is always glad to be your resource for federal policy and relations.
Connect with SuzanneFrom the Administration through the halls of Congress, we spearhead the University’s federal policy agenda and forge strong partnerships with our public officials.
Working with University leadership, along with higher education peers and other associations, we present the University’s policy and funding interests before the federal government with strong focus on our education, health, research and land-grant missions.
We actively monitor legislative and regulatory activities to keep WVU leaders and the campus community informed of policies that matter to fulfilling our land-grant mission and craft strategy positions.
To build and maintain positive working relationships with federal policy makers, we facilitate visits - both in D.C. and on campus – so that our University leaders, faculty and students have the opportunity for in-person interactions and tour our campuses and colleges.
We remain in regular contact with our government partners to share WVU stories on how our students, faculty and staff are serving as forces for innovation and impact on a global scale through groundbreaking research, workforce and economic development, postsecondary education and more.
