During the August congressional recess, the WVU and WVU Health System's Government Relations offices hosted staff from U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito's office for a series of campus and hospital visits. The staff delegation met with Dr. Ali Rezai, Executive Chair of the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, and toured several projects supported through Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) championed by Senator Capito.
The visit was a testament to the significant impact of federal CDS investments at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, the WVU School of Dentistry, the Public Rapid Transit system, the WVU Library, the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, just to name a few.
These projects were made possible through the Senator’s longstanding commitment to strengthening higher education infrastructure in the State. They are improving access to quality healthcare, enhancing research capabilities, and providing state-of-the-art educational resources, supporting our WVU mission of fostering an environment where education, health, and prosperity thrive.
